General objectives

1. The department aims to graduate artistic cadres specialized in the fields of painting, sculpture, porcelain.

2. Preparing researchers and scientists specialized in the fields of arts and philosophy.

The department achieves its objectives by teaching subjects in the following aspects:

1. General Culture: Freedom and Democracy, Human Rights, Arabic

2. Specialized Culture: History of Arts, Aesthetics

3. Skill efficiency: all practical materials

 

Behavioral objectives:

1. Drawing arts, artistic skills and techniques.) To be a painter.

2. To know the history of his specialization, the stages of his development and the life of the most famous painters internationally, Arably and Qatarily

3. Be proficient in sculpture, skills and techniques (to be a sculptor).

4. Be aware of all the developments and types of sculpture through the ages.

- Department of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts / Basra University:

 

Historical profile:

  The Department of Fine Arts and Fine Arts was established at Basra University in 1992 with the establishment of the college, where 23 batch of bachelor's degree holders graduated from specialties (drawing- sculpture - ceramics) and master's degree in the specialties above when 19 classes came out and the doctoral study was opened in the academic year 2017-2018.

 

Vision :

The Department of Fine Arts seeks to raise the scientific and academic level of students by keeping up with the advanced teaching methods that achieve scientific and academic progress as well as the teaching staff through the establishment of seminars and conferences and urging them to write scientific research.

 

The message. :

Preparing students with bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in different disciplines and preparing a generation of specialists that contributes to raising community cultural awareness and providing state institutions with research, studies, technical and academic consultancy.

 

 Goals :

Continue to update educational methods and means like the corresponding universities (local, Arab or international) to improve scientific and technical performance, and meet the needs of the labor market for specialized expertise that contributes to the advancement of industrial, commercial and service realities in the city .

 

Scientific Plan

 

First: The objectives of the scientific plan (scientific strategy) of the Department of Fine Arts:

 

Improving the scientific and cultural level of the department for students and faculty members compared to the previous year.

- Continue to pursue scientific and cognitive development in aspects of international art and culture based on Iraq's leading role in building human civilization and the creation of the arts, which promotes the building of a new generation that respects the role of art in educating society and upgrading the ethical aspects of its dependence in building the future.

 

- Work to provide a scientific study environment suitable for students and teachers alike by providing the most important requirements and tools required in achieving the creative aspect and urging individual and collective work to produce works of art and scientific research seeking to improve and develop the reality of the city culturally and intellectually.
